Sewing Buttons To Bambi

Having recently dropped their third, and by far their most mature sounding album to date, Tokyo Police Club seem to have clinched their spot as Canada's Indie darlings. The new album, entitled Champ, seems to have been a slight departure for the band, featuring a more subdued and seemingly calculated approach to their songs; previous releases featured a more energetic approach full with clap-along choruses. This is not to say that Champ doesn't feature the same get up and dance mentality as the band's previous titles as is clearly evident with one listen to songs like "Wait Up (Boots of Danger)", "Bambi", and "Not Sick".

Only bigger and brighter things are in the cards for these guys, and one day they may be able to claim the title of Champions of the Canadian (and international) music scene.

People Running Running Running

One of the best bands to ever come from Dischord Records, Q And Not U consistently offered up a nice big plate of, "let's go ape-shit". Shame they're not around anymore, and all the new projects from the members both suck and blow.

If you don't like them I suggest you leave before we have a problem.

Discovery

One part Ra Ra Riot + one part Vampire Weekend + a cover of "I Want You Back" = remember when Michael Jackson was black?

I sure do:

Discovery - I Want You Back

Slang Tang isn't bad either:

Falsetto voices, and drum machines, and keyboards, oh my!

Been kicking around for quite some time now, Metronomy has gone from the pet project of Joseph Mount, to one of the quickest rising electronic bands in the UK. Whether as a solo project, trio, or more recently a duo after the departure of Gabriel Stebbing from the band, Metronomy have consistently delivered quirky, catchy, and always unique sounding songs. Metronomy is also well known for putting out some rather good remixes from the likes of Franz Ferdinand, Klaxons, CSS.

With the release of Nights Out, the band has seen a huge increase in their audience, due undoubtedly in part to the release of infectious singles like "A Thing For Me" (see video), as well as "Heartbreaker":

Metronomy - Heartbreaker

With their growing success in the UK, it seems time that some record company took time out from crafting the next answer to Lady Gaga, noticed what decent music sounds like, and released Metronomy's shit on this side of the pond.
